A little about Mr. Garcia...
I was born and raised in sunny San Diego, CA. My parents are comforted by our family dog, Napoleon, and my father is a retired electrician and my mother is a retired elementary school teacher so education literally runs in my family! Moreover, I also have an older sister who lives and works as a big shot makeup artist in New York City! Aside from wanting to be a secret agent in 5th grade, I have always wanted to be an educator. I was lucky enough to study abroad while at community college before I transferred to UCLA where I received my BA in English and History. During my time in college and before graduate school, I worked in a variety of after school programs with students ranging from kindergarten through high school. Finally, I moved up north to attend Stanford University where I received my Masters and Teaching Credential and was fortunate enough to meet my wife, Gina Garcia-Smith, while a student. She is also an English Teacher and works at Los Altos High School. With that in mind, I look forward to working with students and their families this year at San Jose High School!
